Anderson County is looking for a Museum Director:

 RESPONSIBILITIES:	Provides conceptual leadership through
specialized knowledge, and discipline of the museum, and performs a
variety of administrative and supervisory work in planning, organizing,
implementing programs and services, researching, cataloging and
protecting the cultural resources of the County Museum. Strong focus on
fundraising. Exercises supervision over museum staff, part-time,
volunteer or seasonal personnel. Responsible for the business operations
of the museum including human resources management, fiscal planning,
budgeting, and public/media relations. Ability to develop plan,
coordinate and implement actions with the objective to develop the site
into the largest county-owned history museum in the state of South
Carolina. Responsible for acquiring gifts, purchases, and loans for
exhibits at the museum, fund-raising and grant-writing activities as
well as the oversight of marketing relations for the museum. Prepares
cost estimates to plan and provide for improvements in the museum
system; oversees museum improvements. 

 DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
 (A) 	Bachelor's degree; advanced degree preferred; in history, museum
collection automation experience, historical preservation, or a closely
related field, and
 (B) 	Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in
museum operations or any equivalent combination of education and
experience.
