The University of South Carolina's McKissick Museum in the College of
Arts and Sciences invites applications for a director for its faculty
curatorial initiative. This is a new position within the College as a
non-tenured clinical assistant professor. This position reports directly
to the director of the museum and will be responsible for formulating
and overseeing the institution's new role of engaging faculty and
students in the life of the museum. PhD or EdD preferred. ABD
considered. We seek candidates who will also direct the graduate level
certificate program in museum management including course structure and
content and serve in a senior curatorial capacity. The candidate will
also have adjunct faculty status within an appropriate academic
department in the College of Arts and Sciences and should be able to
teach an upper level course in his/her specialty. It is expected that
the candidate will work closely with other faculty and museum staff to
foster innovative and interdisciplinary projects as well as engage
students in museum based learning.Applicants may send a cover letter, a

material culture of the Southeastern United States. It has extensive
collections in those areas as well as natural history. It produces
highly interpretive exhibitions that look at the arts and everyday lives
of Americans. The Museum maintains close ties with the departments of
Art, Anthropology, and History, as well as the School of the Environment
and the Southern Studies Program. The University of South Carolina's
