face="Times New Roman">The Georgetown County Historical Society is pleased to
share with you exciting news about their upcoming weekend special event
scheduled to take place on October 23 and 24, 2009. </FONT></P>
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 6pt" class=MsoBodyText><FONT size=3><FONT
face="Times New Roman">When in June, “This Old House.com” selected <st1:place
w:st="on"><st1:City w:st="on">Georgetown</st1:City></st1:place> as one of the
best places nationwide to buy an historic home, the Society initiated plans to
celebrate and showcase the exceptional restoration and preservation taking place
in the historic district. <SUP><o:p></o:p></SUP></FONT></FONT></P>
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 6pt" class=MsoBodyText><FONT size=3
face="Times New Roman">On Saturday October 24<SUP>th</SUP> from 10am-4pm, this
major fundraiser for the Georgetown County Museum, called “Architectural Gems of
Georgetown”, will offer the rarest of opportunities to tour two “gems” of the
Georgetown historic district that have been recently and beautifully restored:
the Congdon-Doyle Matheson House and the Morgan-Ray House. Both homes are
located on <st1:Street w:st="on"><st1:address w:st="on">Prince
Street</st1:address></st1:Street> on either side of the Museum.</FONT></P>
<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 6pt" class=MsoBodyText><FONT size=3><FONT
face="Times New Roman"><SPAN class=grame><SPAN
style="COLOR: black">Additionally, for those interested in broadening their
understanding of historic preservation, there will be a symposium from
10am-12:30 pm which will offer a chance to learn from </SPAN></SPAN><SPAN
class=spelle><SPAN style="COLOR: black">experienced</SPAN></SPAN><SPAN
class=grame><SPAN style="COLOR: black"> professionals in the
field</SPAN></SPAN>. The symposium, which will take place at the Winyah
Auditorium will include a brown bag lunch.</FONT></FONT></P>

Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 10am to 3 pm. Regular admission is $4 for
adults, $3 for seniors, $2 for children age 6 to 12. Children under 6 and
